GUNZILLA GAMES ANNOUNCES OFF The GRID, A THIRD PERSON BATTLE ROYALE W/ A STRONG NARRATIVE FOCUS

Godzilla Games has today revealed Off the Grid, its third-person shooter Battle Royale title. The game is set in a dystopian cyberpunk-inspired future and focuses more on narrative progression.

Off The Grid supports 150 players and features both PvP skirmishes and PvE elements. These are storyline missions that allow players to have complete control over the story’s progression, and each player’s gameplay will be affected by their decisions.

Players can trade, craft, and customize in-game items when there is a lull. Off The Grid is considered an evolution of battle royale.

Neill Blomkamp, Chief Visionary Officer, and Richard K. Morgan, Script Writer, led the project. Olivier Henriot – well-known for his work in series like Far Cry or Assassin’s Creed – took over as an executive narrative director.

Blomkamp stated that OTG is not only about creating Battle Royale 2.0 through deep player progression but also about creating an evolving world that can take on a life of its own and change unexpectedly each time a player joins the game.

“With an innovative approach for the Battle Royale core sessions flow and a deep narrative adventure, we add purpose and meaning to every element of the game. This allows players to return to the OTG world frequently where there is always more to discover and explore and for us all to build upon.

Off The Grid was developed using Unreal Engine. It is expected to launch sometime in 2023. In the coming months, more details will be revealed. Visit its official webpage to learn more.
