The player has the option to choose from three distinct paths of victory development: Science, Military, or Trade. The traditional Military development path allows the player to build an army for the kingdom in order to conquer and defeat enemies.
Priests can be used to conquer enemy territory without the need for an army. The Science development path requires that the player concentrates on technological advancements.
The Trade development path is where the player creates their economy and tries to occupy the best trade routes. Each development path offers unique possibilities and units. The player can win by collecting Victory Points throughout all of their development paths.
