The Last of Us Part 1 PC Releases “Very Soon After” PS5
Naughty Dog’s The Final of Us remake is not exclusive to the PS5, but a PC release may not be far off. One developer on the project said that The Last of Us Part 1 might be released for PC “very soon” after its PS5 debut.
After sharing the gameplay trailer, Jonathan Benainous, senior environment texture artist at Naughty Dog, responded to several fans on Twitter. Benainous shared the excitement of The last of us Part 1 with one fan, who tweeted that it would be out “a little later but very soon after” the PS5 release.
Although it isn’t a definitive date or an official reveal, it gives us a glimpse at the game’s launch. Naughty Dog does not list The last of Us Part 1 in its official description. It only states that it is “in development for PC.” The PS5 version will launch on September 2. It doesn’t matter what “very soon after”. It should be a relief for those still ineligible to purchase a PS5.
Naughty Dog refers to The last of us Part 1 as “faithful remakes” of the 2013 Joel/Ellie story. It has been rebuilt for the PS5 with the latest DualSense features, updated gameplay mechanics, and expanded accessibility options.
Sony’s HBO retelling of the Ellie-focused sequel has kept the series in the limelight (also based upon the original game). Fanbyte’s Kenneth Shepard, Fanbyte’s editor, pointed out that The Last of Us was inevitable. Although the verdict on whether or not this HBO series will translate from the game is yet to be released, I am hopeful that its writers will be Pedro Pascal and Joel.
