THE CYCLE: FRONTIER DATA DRIVE GUIDE – WHERE ARE UPLINK TOWERS
The Circle: Frontier offers many resources and items to collect and upgrade. The Data Drive is one of these. You can find drives on the planet’s surface or purchase them from the ICA Market, but they are worthless unless you upgrade them.
These standard data drives can be upgraded tier-by-tier by inserting them into an Uplink Tower at Fortuna III. This guide explains where the Uplink Towers can be found and how to upgrade them.
The Cycle: Frontier Data Drive & Uplink Towers
You can find two Uplink Towers on your primary map, but you can also go to the Comms Tower to the West.
Each tier takes 30 seconds longer than the previous. This means that getting rare from a common takes just 30 seconds while upgrading an epic into a legendary takes 2 mins.
It takes approximately 5 minutes to go from a basic to a legendary. However, if you are only doing it for work, the 3 minutes it takes to get to epic will be enough.
It is still dangerous to wait for the upload to finish, and your shiny new drive pops out. The antennas connected to the station will send signals to all nearby players, often causing them to converge on your location.
You can upgrade them and sell them for a lot more than what they cost to purchase. The rare can also be used for the level 12 ICA faction job. This will reward you with 260 FP and 31 ICA Scrip, and 19,000 Krypto Marks.
