Freelance exorcist Yuuma Nagumo battles between his own beliefs and the harsh realities of his surroundings. Yuuma first tries to keep his childhood friend Yukari Kaburagi out of the conflict when she unexpectedly develops exorcist abilities of her own. However, following some surprising detours, the two decide to engage in side-by-side combat with youkai at Inakibi Village.
