SNK Launches EVO 2022 with Fatal Fury Reveal and KOFXV DLC Plans
SNK has some surprises for Evo 2022’s last day. After a 22-year gap, the publisher announced that a new Fatal Fury was in the making. A trio of DLC characters will be added to K Fighting of Fighters XV tomorrow.
The crowd knew KOF surprises were coming, but another Fatal Fury title ( Garou ) was a real shock. SNK didn’t give any details beyond the fact that a “sequel was green-lit,” but it was a great way to celebrate a series that has been dormant for over two decades. This trailer has a few teaser words and key artwork by Rock Howard. The art is mine, however. Take a look at this man:
King of Fighters saw many DLC roster extensions and plans laid down through 2023. Although there is no precise date, KOF XV will bring Darli Dagger, Nakoruru, and Haohmaru to the brawl under Team Samurai. SNK also announced that Team Awakened Orochi (the DLC trio) would launch tomorrow, August 8. This group includes Chris, Yashiro, and Orochi Shermie.
SNK has announced that the next season of the King of Fighters roster will begin in 2023. Shingo Yabuki, Kim Kaphwhan, and more character reveals are among the new additions.
The KOFXV DLC announcements today bring the roster to 54 playable fighters. However, SNK’s EVO news also included other beats revealed over the weekend. SNK revealed a cross-platform update to the game’s 2023 roadmap during the team’s first panel. You should be able to play with other players on PlayStation platforms, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
EVO 2022 is in its final stretch. This show’s first live event has been held since Sony took it in 2021. The fighting game community has seen updates for rollback netcode enhancements and P Arena. Guilty gear Strive also presented its tentative map. However, Sony stopped to clarify that it may believe NFTs to be a good idea.
