League of Legends Patch 12.15 Notifications: Energy Ninjas Won and Master Yi nerfs

The League of Legends 12.15 patch notes have been released. They bring a new era of buffs and skins for energy champions and recalibrating of nerfs to Sivir and Master Yi. Everything you need to know regarding Leaguepatch 12,15 is covered by us, including the release date.

We are getting 12.15 patch notes earlier than usual because Lead Designer Rizzon tweeted them before the regular schedule. This patch is not as large as 12.14. It was designed to make several systems and champion changes in preparation for the League of Legends World Championship. It does provide much-needed support to energy-based ninjas who haven’t been hitting the same level since the big durability patches.

League Patch 12.15 Champion Nerfs

Gwen

  • Q – Snip Snap! True Damage in the Center: 75% > 50% Damage is converted into True Damage

“Gwen’s 12.13 changes achieved our goals of making players lane with her and execute her combinations more easily, but they were too effective at higher levels of play. While we intend to keep her identity and her power as a scaler, we are reducing the Damage she does in her later game.

Kalista

  • Base Attack Damage :: 69 > 66

“Kalista is a strong early game pick and has dominated bot lane in professional play.” We are reducing her Damage to make her less oppressive in the early game stages.

Master Yi

  • E (Wuju Style Cooldown) does not decrease with rank. Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 >>>18 seconds for any rank.

“Master Yi has done well with the changes and achieved a fairly equal win rate across all skill levels. We feel he’s still a little stronger than we would like, so we are reducing his access to E and true damage, particularly in cases where Yi chooses to max E first.

Guyana

  • Passive – Royal Privilege: bonus attack damage scaling reduced. Damage :: 15-83 (levels 1-18) (+45% bonus AD) (+30%AP) >>> 15-83 (levels 1-18) (+30%
    Bonus AD) (+30%AP
  • Fixed a bug in which Qiyana could use an extra proc from her passive with First Strike
    equip

Qiana has been the empress in the Rift lately due to a bug that allowed her passive to proc twice with First Strike. We have removed the bug and are nerfing First Strike. This should result in an overall reduction and a slight increase in her power from her passive to make her a bit more oppressive.

Sivir

  • Attack damage growth declined. 3.3 > 3
  • E – Spell Shield cooldown increased for all ranks 22/20/18/16/14 > 24/22.5/21/19.5/18
  • R – On Hunt: Cooldown increased for all ranks 100/85/70 > 120/100/80

“She’s been working on Sivir’s mid-scope update and has successfully found her place as an AOE marksman of hyper-scaling on the roster. We’re hoping to reduce her late-game power and give her opponents more opportunities to challenge her with this set of changes.”

Taliyah

  • E – Unraveled earth: Cooldown increased for all ranks 16/15/14/13/12 second > 1817/16/15/14 Seconds
  • R – Weaver’s Wall: wall duration reduced. Five seconds > 4 seconds” Taliyah’s Unraveled Earth can be used to stall team fights or create a danger zone for opponents. It’s currently taking up too much time for her and her allies. Although we are reducing her ability to cast it as often, she should still be capable of using it twice or more in fights late on.

Champion Buffs

Akali

  • W – Twilight Shroud – Energy restoration and maximum energy bonus increase. Energy Restoration :: 80 > 100
    Maximum Energy Increase:: 80 > 100

Energy is a system that gives champions power spikes, which then drop off during prolonged combat times. Due to the current game state and longer fights, champions who use energy as a resource have had difficulty finding success before they run out of energy (note: this section will be repeated for all energy users in this patch). To help Akali squeeze in an extra ability or two, we are increasing Akali’s energy from her shroud.

Kennen

  • W – Electric Surge: Cooldown reduced early, and magic Damage increased.
    • Cooldown:14/12/10/8/6 > 13/11.25/9.5/7.75/6
      Magic Damage:: 60/85/110/135/160 > 70%/95/120/145/170
  • R – Slicing Maelstrom: Ability power scaling increased
    • Magic Damage Per Bolt:: 40/75/110 (+20% APO) > 40/75/110 (22.5% APO)

“Our electric yordle hasn’t had the same energy issues that other champions this patch, but it has been struggling for different reasons. Shocker. Kennen struggles to be a lane bully and a team fighter because he has more durable targets. We are giving Kennen more power over his teamfighting identity by increasing his winning rate
He receives a slight increase in his W and R damage during combat.

Lee Sin

  • Q: Sonic Wave/Resonating Strike: Reactivation energy cost has decreased. 30 > 25
  • W – Safeguard/Iron will: Reactivation energy costs have decreased. 30 > 25
  • E – Tempest/Cripple: Reactivation energy cost has decreased. 30 > 25

Energy is a system that gives champions power spikes, which then drop off during prolonged combat times. Due to the current game state and longer fights, champions who use energy as a resource have had difficulty finding success before they run out of energy (note: this section will be repeated for all energy users in this patch). We’re decreasing Lee Sin’s energy consumption to give him more flexibility during combos and allow him to cast his spells.

Leona

  • Q – Shield Of Daybreak: Mana cost has been decreased for all ranks.
    • Mana Cost:: 45/50/55/60/65 > 35/40/45/50/55
  • R – Solar Flare crowd controlling duration increased.
    • Stun and Slow Duration: 1.5 > 1.75 Seconds

“Engage support is slightly weaker than we would like them to be after the Durability Update. We’ve made it more likely that her enemies will survive her engagements, so we are giving her more power in longer fights and when she can land her skill shots.

Lillia

  • Increased damage cap for passive – Dream-Laden Bough monsters
    • Monster Damage Cap :: 40-100 (levels 1-18) > 50-150 (levels 1-18)

“Lillia has been weak in the jungle at all skill brackets. We are giving her jungle-oriented buffs to improve her speed without making her a nuisance in the top lanes.

Rammus

  • R – Soaring Slam Cooldown Adjusted
    • Cooldown: 110/95/80> 90 for all ranks
  • Increased base cast rangeBase Cast Range: 600 > 800
  • The Dash range has seen an increase in growth.
    • Range Growth:: 1.3 > 1.5
  • Increased minimum and a maximum speed of the dash.
    • Minimum Dash Speed: 700 > 900
    • Maximum Dash Speed: 1800 > 2000

Rammus isn’t as enthusiastic about the 12.14 tank item changes we made. We are restoring some power to Rammus’ kit by making quality-of-life adjustments to his ultimate. Rammus would then respond with “OK.”‘”

Shen

  • E – Shadow Dash – Passive energy refund increased late.
    • Energy Refunded after repairing Damage to Passive or Electro:: 30/35/40> 30/40/50

Energy is a system that gives champions power spikes, which then drop off during prolonged combat times. Due to the current game state and longer fights, champions who use energy as a resource have had difficulty finding success before they run out of energy (note: this section will be repeated for all energy users in this patch). We’re giving Shen a small boost to aid him in the later game, as he is relatively efficient in terms of energy efficiency.

Singed

  • Passive – Noxious slipstream: Bonus movement speed increased.
    • Bonus Movement Speed:: 20% > 25%
  • The per-target cooling down was decreased.
    • Per-target Cooldown: 10 second > 8 seconds
  • R – Insanity Potion: Bonus stats increased earlier
    • Bonus Stats: 20/60/100 > 30-65/100

“Now that we have finished with Singed Mid, we are reverting changes to reduce his durability in patch 12.12 and buffing his passive so it feels better during team fights. He’ll now be able to zip around and flip his opponents to his Chem-infused heart’s content.

Thresh

  • Q – Death Sentence: Cooldown reduced at all ranks
    • Cooldown:: 20/18/16/14/12 > 19.17/15/13/11
  • All ranks have magic damage that is increased.
    • Magic Damage:: 80/120/160/200/240> 100/140/180/220/260

“Thresh, like other engaged support, has struggled to capitalize on his potential to start fights which takes out Death Sentence. We are decreasing the cooldown and increasing damage to make Thresh’s hooks more deadly.
