Prototype 2 is an Action, Adventure game. James Heller can shapeshift and take on other people’s memories and identities by eating them.
The tactics of assuming other people’s identities and shapeshifting have changed. Blackwatch’s activities in the Yellow Zone have caused people to react in such a manner that they don’t want to interact with the player if he assumes the soldier role. Radical created an AI that is more realistic and a new dodging system to ensure the player doesn’t get overwhelmed by enemies.
Heller can use guns in the game. For example, he could rip the Gatling gun off of a tank to fire at enemies. Heller is also able to sneak up and inject the Blacklight virus into human opponents, turning them into a “BioBomb”, which explodes spectacularly. Heller has many other superhuman abilities, including near-invulnerability, near-flight gliding and leaping, unlimited stamina, and increased speed.
He also has sonar. Sonar has a pulse feature that helps the player find people in large crowds by highlighting the main features. Radical stated that powers would be more significant, and appear as upgrades or mutations that allow players to decide on how they wish Heller to play.
