PlayStation Plus subscribers refuse to download free games that become available, refusing even to update their library of titles with latest free titles available to them.
PlayStation Plus subscribers have rejected Sony’s latest batch of free games outright – yet another indication that they made some excellent decisions recently.
As anyone following PlayStation Plus knows, there has been much chaos surrounding its availability and management.
Microsoft and Bethesda had prepared to introduce Starfield into Xbox Game Pass and draw thousands of new subscribers; Sony had prepared one of its worst free-game months ever for PlayStation Plus customers before going one further and raising prices across all tiers – which, let’s be honest, did not go down well at all with our audience.
PlayStation Plus subscribers seem unimpressed with September 2023’s free games – they just don’t see themselves downloading them!
As for what three free games were included: Saints Row, Black Desert – Traveler Edition and Generation Zero may not have made waves upon release; I doubt many gamers were thrilled when these titles joined PlayStation Plus either.
Now that games are officially up for claim, subscribers have begun opting to cancel their subscriptions in favor of canceling them immediately.
“This selection seems overwhelmingly disappointing to me,” writes one Reddit user. Typically when games don’t meet one person’s tastes for any given month I still believe there will likely be someone out there excited for them – not so with these three titles though; no-one seems particularly enthusiastic for any one of them!
One person added, “Feeling good about my total cancellation today.”
“The price increase spooked me and I cancelled my renewal plan for next year,” noted another. “Hoping to be impressed before then — but this is certainly not off on an encouraging start!”
