How Tomestones are changing in FFXIV 6.2: Astronomy, Aphorisms, Causality and More
Another round of Allagan Tomestones is underway with another major Final Fantasy XIV patch. You can say goodbye to many of these endgame currencies once FFXIV patch 6.2 launches in late August (August 23rd or 30). As we move towards new sets of endgame gear, there will be some changes to the high-end Tomestones. You need to know this regarding changes to Tomestones using HTMLXIV 6.
Aphorism Tomestones
First, you won’t be able to exchange or obtain Tomestones for Aphorism anymore. They are currently used to obtain Moonward gear (ILVL570), modeled after Final Fantasy IV characters. Crucible Rain is a material that can be used to obtain Augmented Classical equipment (ILVL 590) and other high-end crafting materials. You can trade any Tomestones of Aphorism to obtain Tomestones of Astronomy.
Tomestones of Allegory & Revelation
The game has been removed entirely from Tomestones of Allegory and Tomestones of Revelation. These endgame currencies were unavailable for quite some time during the Shadowbringers period. You can now get some if you have any left in your inventory. These can be exchanged for Tomestones for Poetics until Patch 6.2 is live. After that, they will disappear for good.
Astronomy Tomestones
The current high-end currency is freed. Once Patch 6.2 is released, players will no longer have to earn 450 Tomestones of Astronomy par semaine. There will be an inventory limit of 2,000 you can keep at any given time. Be sure to use them before you reach the total cap. Tomestones for Causality (New).
The FFXIV patch 6.2 will introduce a new top-tier currency: the Tomestones for Causality. These will replace Tomestones of Astronomy and can presumably be used to purchase the next wave of high ILVL gear.
