It’s true, people still play Halo: Infinite. This partially fills me with joy, as 343 Industries has been tirelessly trying to fix the game’s inexorable flurry of flaws. However, the truth surprises me.

It is still missing a co-op campaign for Halo Infinite and the player base has recently reached an all-time low on Steam Database. Season 2 was released a few weeks back. It was expected that it would bring life to the game, but instead, players complained it removed “everything fun.” Now, the game’s developers appear to be using a new strategy. They are really trying.

Halo – Infinite‘s head creative Joseph Staten was recently interviewed on the Kinda funny Xcast. He was asked why classic maps have not been added to the game as a buffer for fans between new content drops.

Staten replied to the host by saying, “That’s an excellent idea, Parris.” There are many maps that are amazing. It would be great to go back on these maps, don’t ya guys? It sounds like a lot of fun. That’s something I’ll be keeping in my notebook.”

Although it is not a guarantee that Halo will include original maps, it is a welcome step in the right direction. The game desperately needs fans to return to the game.

Co-op campaigns are the key to this. The co-op will launch in August, and it will be an online co-op. Although split-screen co-op doesn’t have a release date, it is scheduled to launch in the third season which will be released in November.

You can’t criticize the effort being put into this game even if it doesn’t feel like it’s paying off.
