An energy shield is provided to the player’s character that negates damage caused by weapons fire or forceful impacts. The shield’s charge is visible as a blue bar at the corner of the game’s heads-up display. It automatically recharges when there is no sustained damage for a short period. The shield’s charge is exhausted and the player becomes extremely vulnerable. Further damage will reduce the hit points on their health meter. The character will die if their health meter drops below zero. You can replenish your health by purchasing the various health packs found throughout the game.
