Fortnite: The Last of Us Skins: Release Date, Price & What You Need to Know
ORIGINAL STATEMENT: Fortnite Epic seems to not be too concerned about how child-friendly these properties have recently been. The Fortnite collab with The Last of Us is perhaps the most mature.
The Last of Us, a PlayStation game series developed by Naughty Dog, was launched in 2013 to great critical acclaim. It was quickly hailed as one of their best games. The story follows Joel and Ellie as they try to find a cure for a deadly disease in a post-apocalyptic setting. However, the game’s actual quality is in the more intimate moments between the protagonists. In 2020 a sequel was released. The first game was which was controversially remade on PC and PS5.
Now, the Last of Us will be coming to Fortnite. This is the latest collaboration.
Fortnite x The Last of Us
The collaboration was not confirmed at the time of writing. Instead, it was leaked by insider information on the Xbox Era Podcast, where they said the crossover was in development.
The Fortnite news source ShiinaBR and Leaker confirmed those reports. They later stated that the skins would be for Joel and Ellie, and the collaboration has been in the works for quite some time. It was likely to have been discussed by Epic, Naughty Dog, and Sony at the exact moment as Uncharted crossover.
Most likely, Ellie’s skin will be based on how Ellie looks in the second video game. If it is based on her appearance from the first game, it will be too short.
Fortnite: The Last of Us Skin Prices
The Fortnite and The Last of Us skins are based on Uncharted skins. They will be 1500 VBucks each when they become available in the Fortnite Item Shop.
A bundle of all TLOU cosmetics will be available to players. This includes Pickaxes and Back Blings, as well as a Firefly spray. The bundle will likely cost around 2000 V-Bucks.
Fortnite: The Last of Us Skin Release Date
The Fortnite/TLOU collaboration will drop sometime in September 2022 to coincide with The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5.
It will likely remain in the Item Shop for at least a week. However, it may stay longer to tie into the marketing cycle of The Legend of Zelda. When the HBO series airs, most likely, the skins will be updated and released once again.
