Final Fantasy IX Animation Series “Presented for the First Time” at Upcoming Expo

Cyber Group Studios’ Final Fantasy IX animation agreement with Square Enix was announced almost one year ago. Now, it seems like there is an update. A new interview by Animation Magazine states that the Final Fantasy IX series will be “presented for the first time” at an expo this week.

Animation Magazine asked Bruno Denzel d’Aumont (Cyber Group Studios’ vice-president of international licensing marketing) what new shows they would bring to the show. Dumont stated that this was an excellent opportunity to share our upcoming projects with our[Cyber Group] licensees, agents, and new partners.” The Final Fantasy IX series will be one of the new shows the studio will present at this week’s Licensing Expo. It will take place from May 24 to May 26.

Cyber Group last year stated that its Final Fantasy IX series was aimed at children aged 8-13 years old and will be focused on the cast and story we already know. Although the expo news promises big trailers and an episode release, it doesn’t say what season. So, let’s not expect too much. I wish a badly taken photo of a PowerPoint. The PowerPoint shows Alexandria. The show’s presentation, if anything, is a confirmation that the project continues.

Nvidia also leaked unannounced titles, which included a Final Fantasy IX remaster. While many games were made from the ordeal, it’s not confident that we will see a reworked Zidane, Vivi, or Princess Garnet in a new title. It is the 35th anniversary of the series, and I’m desperate for more Final Fantasy VII remake news –so maybe Square Enix will surprise us.

However, I don’t believe it is terrible because of the cartoon approach or the age range; both are fine for the RPG. I am more optimistic that this isn’t some strange Kingsglaive thing. I will remain positive, but please be kind and understanding to Freya, Eiko, Mog, and Vivi.
