The game takes place in Kyrat, a fictional Himalayan nation that consists mainly of vast mountains and forests, large water systems, villages, and other small towns. Ajay Ghale is a young Kyrati-American who finds himself in a civil war between Kyrat’s Royal Army and the tyrannical king Pagan Min and a rebel movement called The Golden Path. The game’s core story is centered on combat and exploration. Players must battle enemies, soldiers, and dangerous wildlife with various weapons while also completing side missions, collecting useful objects, and advancing through the main story. This game has many elements that are common in role-playing games, such as a branching storyline.
