Klei Entertainment, a Canadian indie firm, has created Don’t starve, an open-world survival video game. The mouse is used to control combat. Other activities can be controlled using the keyboard or the built-in gamepad support. This gives the game a console-like feel. Onscreen, the goal is to survive for as many days as possible. Other than the number of experience points earned and unlocked characters, the game does not keep any records about player progress. Wilson, the default playable character in the game, is unlocked when you purchase the game. Willow can be unlocked using 160 experience points. Woodie is the last character that can be unlocked with experience. It requires the game’s maximum of 1,600. After dying, the player receives 20 experience points. Death is permanent as is the case with roguelikes. This excludes the possibility of receiving rare or costly items such as the Meat Effigy and TouchStone.
