In Dominions, you take control of a powerful being that rules a country and aspires to godhood. The pretender gods have various strengths determined by the sort of god you select and what country you perform.
After you start the match, you decide What Sort of god you are and how your own Dominion impacts your own lands and followers. It’s a reflection of your celestial might and the beliefs of your followers. If your dominion expires, so do you. Your dominion also arouses your sacred warriors and provides them abilities derived out of your dominion.
