ANIMAL CROSSING NEW HORIZONS: FEBRUARY OVERVIEW

Although February may be the shortest month of the year, it is packed with exciting events in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is also a month full of changes. The snow will melt towards the end in the northern hemisphere. It’s the last month before autumn in the south. This guide will help you plan your month. Keep an eye out for events like the Bug-Off in South. Find out about the available fish, bugs, and other sea creatures. What’s new in February? And what will disappear at the end of the month? This guide will tell you about the month’s birthdays and unique seasonal items available at Nook Shopping.

EVENTS

Although winter/summer may be ending, February is not quiet. Nook Shopping has a lot of unique items to commemorate important occasions, so there are plenty of things to do in February. Let’s see what this month has in store.

LUNAR NEW YEAR

New Year’s Day is traditionally celebrated on January 1, but the Chinese celebrate it almost a month later. Lunar New Year is not the same day as New Year’s Day. It occurs on different dates every year. It can happen in January or February. It will appear in either January or February of 2022. In 2023 it will be on the 22nd of January. The event is the same each year in New Horizons, regardless of the date.

Nook Shopping has two exclusive items to celebrate the Lunar New Year regardless of when it falls. You can hang the Lunar New Year Decoration on your wall. It costs 2,000 bells. The Lucky Red Envelope is the second, and it’s more than a decoration. You can add Bells to this item and then give it to another person in the game. This Chinese New Year tradition protects you from bad luck and brings good fortune. 500 Bells are required to purchase the Lucky Red Envelope.

Celebrate the Chinese New Year in style with Nook Shopping products.

Another particular item is available for the New Year. It’s also the year of the Korean New Year celebration, Seollal. You can buy a Bokjumeoni Lucky Pouch to commemorate this occasion for 500 bells. This item functions similarly to the Lucky Red Envelope for the Chinese New Year. This item can be attached with Bells and passed on to someone else to bring good luck. You can put Bells into the Pouch to make it a Sebaetdon. This will allow you to open the Pouch and receive Bells.

GROUNDHOG Day

There are no special events to mark the February 2nd holiday in the game. There are other ways to commemorate it, however. You can purchase a Resetti Model at Nook Shopping from the 25th of January to the 2nd of February. This model can be displayed at your home. The purchase price is 2,200 Bells. You can also interact with the item by turning on or Mr Resetti’s headlight.

SETSUBUN

This event, also known as Bean Day, is traditionally celebrated by the Japanese to signify the end of winter/beginning of spring. Setsubun is celebrated on the 3rd of February. You can purchase your Bean Tossing Kit at Nook Shopping for 800 bells during the week leading to Setsubun. This allows you to throw beans in the air while still holding the kit. This is to prevent sickness and other disasters and welcome a new year of health and peace.

The Bean Tossing Kit allows you to toss beans in New Horizons

You can also celebrate Setsubun with the Bean Tossing Kit in New Horizons. Look out for unique items from Able Sisters that relate to Bean Day between the 1st and 3rd of February. These items include the Horned Ogre Mask and Ogre Costume, and the Okame Mask.

VALENTINE’S JOURNEY

This romantic holiday in Animal Crossing is hard to miss. You might get a Heart Chocolate or Heart Shaped Bouquet from Isabelle or one of the villagers in the post on the 14th. Nook Shopping also sells these items between the 1st to 14th of February. Each item is 1,200 Bells in cost and is available in different colours.

Another Valentine’s Day treat is available for you. Brewster will offer hot chocolate to anyone who stops by The Roost cafe.

BIG GAME CELEBRATION ITEMS

It’s not a game-related event, but you can buy two items to commemorate the real-world American Football season (known as the Super Bowl). Nook Shopping has a Cheer Megaphone as well as a Football Rug. The Megaphone is 1,500 Bells, while the Rug costs 2,000 Bells. There are many colours and designs available for the Megaphone. The Megaphone can be held by any character who wishes to blow through it.

This fantastic football rug and megaphones will help you celebrate the Big Game in New Horizons.

CARNIVAL OF VENICE

Animal Crossing will have a Festival in March (or March, depending on the year), but there is also the Carnival of Venice. This year, there is no Festival, but Nook Shopping still sells Venetian masks. They are available in five variations and cost 2,400 Bells each.

BUG OFF

It’s an exclusive event for the southern hemisphere. The flick will be visiting your island to host the event once again, so get your nets ready. The Bug Off is held on the third Saturday of each month.

THE SNOW MELTS NORTH

If you are on an island located in the north, it will be sad or happy to learn that the snow will melt on February 25th. It might seem strange to see grass again after being used to snow for so long (almost 2 months). Also, snow will disappear from trees and rooftops. Three things will happen due to the snow melting: You won’t get snowballs on each island every day, and you can’t make Snowboys. You won’t get snowflakes floating around in the air anymore, which is essential for specific winter recipes. The melting snowflakes also mark the end of winter.

Snowflakes, snowballs and Snowboys will disappear when the snow is gone.

HINAMATSURI

Although this holiday isn’t celebrated in a game like Festivale, it’s not impossible to celebrate it with particular items. Although Girl’s Day is a Japanese holiday, it doesn’t occur until March 3rd; the things you can purchase for that holiday will be available at the end of February. Nook Shopping will have a Blossom Lantern (2.400 Bells) and Hinaningyo (2.560 Bells).

FESTIVALE

Viva, Festivale! This party event is not one to miss. This is an event where the date changes each year. It will be held on the 28th of February in 2022. Festivale is two days before Ash Wednesday and can be controlled in February or March.

You’ll see colourful feathers in the air throughout the day. These feathers can be caught and traded to Pave for Festivale special items. Pave can be found on the Plaza outside Resident Services. You will be asked to collect three feathers of a particular colour (Blue, Green, Red or Purple). He will give you three Festivale items if you have the right coloured feathers.

Festivale is a big event that you don’t want to miss.

Festivale is a time when feathers are used in many ways. Feathers can be exchanged with other villagers or utilised at a DIY bench to alter the colour of Festivale products. If you have any of the four colours, you can make your rainbow feather. You can wear feathers as an accessory to your headgear.

Able Sisters and Nook’s Cranny have unique Festivale clothes and other items that you can purchase to get dressed up for the occasion. These items will be available for purchase two weeks before the big bonanza.

LEAP DAY

February traditionally had 28 days. However, every four years, you get an additional day. It’s rare but worth noting that Leap Day occurs only occasionally. New Horizons was released in March 2020. This game has never had a Leap Day (unless you can time travel). The 2024 and 2028 dates are set. Luna is the character who celebrates their 29th birthday. If a player was born on or after the 29th of the month and is not in a leap year, their birthday is celebrated on the 28th, with other characters acknowledging the occasion.
