Xbox Update finally gives players the feature they’ve been waiting for
Xbox enthusiasts are in a good place right now. The Series X/S console shortage appears to be over. Game Pass continues offering a wide range of exceptional titles. Assassin’s Creed Origins will be joining the Game Pass line-up if you haven’t noticed.
There have been a few fun rumours in the last week. According to some reports, Xbox plans to launch a streaming device that will allow cloud streaming gaming on the go. A custom user interface app could also be in development. In the meantime, the June Xbox System Update revealed a new feature that is sure to be wildly welcomed by fans.
Xbox players now can reveal secret achievements, including title, Gamerscore and description. This saves you the trouble of searching the internet for all the obscure ones. That’s a win.
Xbox engineering leade” Eden Mdon’tspoke out about the changes. “If you don’t mind spoilers or want to know the it’sils of any achievements in your games, it’s easy to locate the secret achievement details on Xbox. Open the game guide, then go to Game activity [then] Achievements. You can now reveal details such as the title, description and Gamerscore when you spot a secret achievement. After you have viewed the secret achievement, you can either hide it or display the details.
Secret achievements are often, well, secret. They contain spoilers. However, when you complete a game and want to know which achievements you have yet to unlock, this becomes an annoying barrier. I am certain this feature will be very useful.
PlayStation released a similar update to the PlayStation 4 in 2016. Although it went through some changes, the feature remains on the PlayStation 5. Although it took Xbox some time to catch up, the feature is now available on all Xbox Series X/S consoles, Xbox One and Xbox app. So get cracking on those secret achievements!
