Warzone Mobile Codenamed Project Aurora
Call of Duty’s mobile offering continues to attract a lot of attention from players. Activision’s annual report reveals COD Mobile has exceeded 650,000,000 downloads. This is on par with its PC and console counterparts.
It’s not surprising that the publisher is increasing its efforts considering millions of people are playing Call of Duty on their mobile devices.
Rumours of a mobile Warzone version are circulating. It appears that the publisher is currently working on a standalone battle royale game codenamed Project Aurora.

A blog shared information about the project on May 11. It will “bring together friends, families, people from all over the world in a global community.” The developers also confirmed that the game is still being developed.
According to the blog post, the Alpha test was limited in size, and participants were not allowed to share details about the game with the public. Project Aurora’s developers have yet to confirm whether the game is Warzone Mobile, or an entirely new battle royale experience.
Do I need to sign up for Project Aurora Alpha?
The Closed Alpha is only open to those who have been invited by the developers. There are no plans for open sign-ups. Developers do advise fans to “keep your eyes open for future communications”
Activision’s idea of a mobile battle royale is smart considering that Apex Legends has also doubled down on a mobile port. Project Aurora is likely to be a popular game that generates lots of profits and popularity, as there are many people already playing COD Mobile.
