About Victoria II
Paradox Interactive published Victoria II, a grand strategy game. Paradox Development Studio developed it. Victoria II covers the entire globe, from 1836 to the beginning of 1936. It has over 200 nations.
Victoria II, like its predecessor, focuses on internal management. This includes industrialization and social/political change in a country that has 8 government types.
Because the game has a complex market system that includes over 50 types and factories, it gives importance to the country’s economy. Although warfare is an important part of the game, it is not the main focus like in other Paradox Interactive games like the Hearts of Iron series.
The nations’ population is divided into religions, cultures, and occupations. There are many different populations or “pops”, including officers, clergy and aristocrats. Victoria II introduces two new groups: artisans and bureaucrats.
Paradox titles like Europa Universals have added historical missions, called “decisions”, that are micro-objectives within the larger game. There are many historical events and decisions. These events and the nationalist forces that are involved can lead to the formation or disintegration of nation-states.
