The Director of ‘BioShock,’ a Netflix Film, Has Arrived
There are many live-action video game adaptations currently in development. I am oddly optimistic about them all; despite Netflix’s recent Resident Evil series proving that videogame adaptations are not any more terrible stilhasn’t’t been achieved. HBO’s Last of UHBO’sSeries looks amazing in its first trailer. I feel very hopeful after this latest news about Netflix’s BioShNetflix’sation.
Netflix has officially announced that Francis Lawrence will direct their BIOShock film production. Lawrence has a lot of great credits. Lawrence was the director of four of five The Hunger Games films, starting with catching Fire. This film is by far the best. He was also the director of I Am Legend and will be directing the forthcoming Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes.
Michael Green, a screenwriter for BioShock, will be writing the screenplay. His credits include Logan and Blade Runner 2049. Netflix is keeping the details of the project very secretive, but it seems that their pitch to attract great talent must sound quite promising.
2K Games and Take-Two Interactive have partnered with the streaming service to make the film. We can expect a faithful adaptation. BioShock will begin filming within the next few weeks.
