The game combines military, economic and role-playing elements. The game begins with a single stronghold that must be protected. Victory can be achieved by force but also through cunning.

There were many opportunities for victory: diplomacy, buying mercenaries, and searching for artifacts. For turn-based strategies, the playing field has a typical top view and cells that are hexagons. The player’s territory grows until all enemies are defeated.
