Respawn is looking for single-player Apex Universe Project players
Respawn Entertainment is looking for a new Apex Universe gamer. The new positions aren’t in-depth but the studio repeatedly mentions that its project is single-player.
Dexerto noticed that an “Apex Universe FPS Title” project is listed in several places on the studio’s careers page. There are positions available for a skybox artist and senior software engineer as well as senior environment artists and some other. Some postings are a little confusing, as they do not include the Apex mention when you click through to the application. They all seem to be talking about the single-player adventure in battle royale’s universe. The responsibilities listed in Respawn’s open posts don’t provide much information to help you connect the dots.
The Apex Universe is constantly expanding its world in Respawn’s online shooter. So a single-player version makes perfect sense. For those who are not familiar, this is the Titanfall universe and not just Apex. The branding is sensible considering the original game’s unfortunate ending and the fact that the world’s biggest ‘boom’ may have taken off with Apex Legends.
Although the studio hasn’t been too coy about Apex-related news last year, its position on a possible Titanfall3 became a bit confusing when Respawn’s Twitter account made a few contradictory statements. It seems unlikely that our third Titanfall-style Apex game will be realized, given the studio’s successes with Apex.
Titanfall2‘s single-player campaign is undoubtedly one of the most loved experiences by Respawn, but there are plenty of other projects for the developer to keep him busy. EA revealed its golden child in January that it was developing a series Star Wars games. While some of these, such as Jedi Fallen Order were not surprising, the two other projects were not on the bingo card.
It’s simple to rule out Star Wars projects under new game descriptions. They’re already marked on our careers page. While we can scratch some theories from the list, mech-fueled wall running ruled. We need that.
