Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Teases the Answer to a Longstanding Question
The series features multiverse counterparts and dimensional travel, but it is not a series with dimensional travel. Clank and Ratchet: Rift ApartThe story is quite simple. Ratchet and Clank are sucked into another dimension by Clank. Two versions of Dr. NefariousTeaming up to conquer all of the multiverses. They are eventually defeated by the duo, but they have plenty of help from Rivet and Kit.
The story ends with a happy note. Rivet and Kit become partners, and the heroes celebrate their victory. Then, Insomniac Games reveals where its heroes will go after Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Their dialogue teases a new direction. Fans have been wondering where the Lombaxes are for nearly two decades. Now, they may finally find their answers in the next Ratchet or Clank game.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Pit Stop Teaser
Rivet and Ratchet discuss meeting other Lombaxes at various points in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Although Ratchet initially seems anxious, he soon overcomes his fears and expresses his excitement about meeting his family. Rivet is, however, excited right from the beginning. Rivet, on the other hand, is excited to find out where the Lombaxes went. Both find they are on the same page and have a clear vision of their futures once they have solved the problem.
Clank developer Insomniac Games are not subtle about this plot development. It serves as the game’s big cliffhanger end. After Emperor Nefarious has been dealt with, Ratchet & Rivet discuss making “a pitstop” before returning home. It is implied that they will be going to the Lombax dimension. This is supported by the credits art. Final piece: Kit, Rivet, and Clank enter a new dimension. This confirms that gamers are finally able to meet other Lombaxes.
Why Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart’s Words Are Important
The logs end on a somewhat hopeful note, though, as Mags believes that the lost Lombaxes will find their new home one day. With gamers having wondered if all the other Lombaxes were wiped out, this answer is as close to a “no” as possible. Though there is a chance that the heroes find a destroyed dimension when they get there, it seems unlikely due to all the buildup that is coming beforehand. Either way, this teaser is a huge deal for series veterans, as seeing what a Lombax dimension looks like will be thrilling. From the architecture and enemies to existing characters like Mags, there is a lot to look forward to in the next game. While it is unclear when a Ratchet and Clank sequel will come, it will be satisfying to see Ratchet and Rivet rewarded with a proper home.
