People are urged to “manage expectations” ahead of this week’s summer game fest
E3 was canceled this year. It will be held both online and in-person. However, video game announcements are still huge. The PlayStation’s state of play kicked things off last Thursday. We still have loads to go with the Xbox and Bethesda games showcases on Sunday (12 iunie) and Summer Game Fest on Thursday (9 June).
Gamers have been anticipating (or hoping and praying for) some big titles and getting too excited. Geoff Keighley, a presenter on Twitter Spaces, warned people not to get too excited over the weekend.
Keighley stated that this was a very exciting weekend for her because she finally got to see the things that we had been discussing for months. “We have announced many things since my last conversation with you guys in terms of world premieres or announcements that will take place at the show.
He continued, “A lot of the games that we’re going show you are already [already] announced […], games will show new content to your eyes, as some of those I’ve listed.” We have a few new announcements and maybe some surprises if all goes well. It is, however, a show that is primarily focused on the stuff that has been announced.
“So, we’re doing some great stuff for you. But you should manage your expectations regarding the megaton shocks you’re expecting. He cautioned that this is not The Game Awards. “We have lots of great stuff to show you, but buyers, beware of some crazy rumors that I’m seeing about what people are expecting to get announced.”
Keighley did not address the rumors directly, of course. However, there are a lot of things he could be referring to. These include whispers of a new multiplayer Crash Bandicoot and a remake of Red Dead Redemption. There will be plenty of exciting stuff, but we have all the details.
