Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, a tactical shooter/battlefield simulator video game, was developed by Bohemia Interactive Studio. It was published by Codemasters in 2001.
Operation Flashpoint’s gameplay is varied depending on which role the player plays, but it can be described as a tactical shooter that includes significant vehicle elements and minimal real-time tactics. OFP’s gameplay is team-oriented.
The player can spend most of the game with up to 11 AI-controlled members of the squad, either as a member or as the leader. The vehicle and on-foot gameplay are seamlessly combined.
Players can jump into any vehicle available at any time, as long as orders and mission conditions permit. The player can view the action on foot and in a vehicle from both the first- and third-person perspectives. Squad leaders also have a ‘command view’ that gives them a limited bird’s-eye view.
