Octodad: Dadliest Catch focuses on destruction, deception and fatherhood. As Octodad, an octopus disguised as a human goes about his daily life, the player controls him. Octodad’s existence requires a constant struggle. He must complete mundane tasks using his giant, boneless tentacles and keep his cephalopodan nature secret from his human family. This sequel to Octodad is a story about a cephaloprotagonist who finds himself trapped between his wife’s growing mistrust and a disastrous trip at the local aquarium.
Is it possible to be a father enough to manage the titular Octopus father? Does he try to hide his nautical nature from his children while keeping his tangled tentacles intact? October 2010 saw the release of the original Octodad by a group of university students. Despite everyone believing it was about a regular dad, the game was a huge success and won a Student Finalist at the Independent Games Festival in 2011. Octodad attracted enough attention that the team decided on a Kickstarter to form Young Horses, a game studio dedicated to creating a better, more polished Octodad game. Two and a quarter years after production began, Octodad the Dadliest Catch is ready for you to slip awkwardly into your arms.

You can create your crazy levels for Octodad and submit them to Steam Workshop. It’s all about completing tasks. Learn the controls to please your wife and make your children happy. The game places objects in the right place for you to laugh at your inability to move. You’ll need to teach your brain how to move your hands and feet when some controls overlap. Also, you will need to pay attention to button timing. The mechanics were what I liked, which is why this game is so popular.
