MASTER OF MAGIC DATE – ALL THAT WE KNOW
Master of Magic will resonate with any 4X strategy enthusiast. You’re likely to have heard of the classic game and its influence on the subgenre. You are likely curious about the date for its Slitherine-published reboot.
In 2021, the Master of Magic reboot was announced. It promised a game that is “extremely faithful” to the original. This means it will change as few elements as possible and only make sense. We hope you enjoy the nostalgia of playing this old classic. This article contains all we know about the reboot.
Release Date for Master of Magic
The Master of Magic reboot is expected to be released before 2022. It has been in beta since May. We are keeping our fingers crossed that there will not be delays.
Master of Magic Story
The Master of Magic: Reboot is set in Arcanus, Mirror. Players can explore these realms to find a range of fantasy races that they can recruit and battle.
Both the former and latter are reminiscent of our world to a certain extent. However, the former is more influenced by magical elements. You can visit them both through portals.
Like other 4X strategy games, you can create your own story as you conquer towns, fight battles and engage in diplomacy. You also have the option to research spells and claim victory over your opponents. This is not the game for you if you are looking for a story-driven adventure.
Master of Magic Gameplay
Anyone who has played Master of Magic should find the reboot of Master of Magic quite familiar. You can choose from 14 wizards to play at the beginning of each match.
Each player has a unique personality. This is reflected in the gameplay and the lives of magical ones that they specialise in.
You can also play as a custom wizard and assign points to traits and magic instead of choosing one of the premade characters.
After that, you choose one of the nine playable races to determine which units you control at the beginning of the game. Then, you can set off on your journey of conquest.
Your unit pool will grow in size and variety as you increase your influence by establishing friendships and taking over towns. You will also have to manage the towns you take over and build new ones with settlers.
You will encounter races like elves and dragons as well as orcs. Additionally, you can collect 250 unique magical items or craft them.
Master of Magic: The Master of Magic Reboot’s gameplay is centred around spells. You’ll be able to use more than 200 of these spells as you play.
At first, your pool might not be as impressive. As the game progresses, you will discover more spells that can be added to your spellbook. These spells can be cast in battle or on the global map once unlocked.
While eliminating other wizards is one way to win, becoming a Master of Magic is possible by researching and casting a powerful spell.
One major difference in the reboot’s title map is that it is divided into hexes instead of the original’s squares. According to the developer, they made more sense in terms of gameplay.
