Jon Favreau: This is the Future of Star Wars
Disney’s Jon Favreau has many talents. The man is an actor, director, producer, and much more. He is often credited with being one of the driving forces behind Marvel’s global cinematic strength. He was also drafted to Star Wars projects like Solo and Mandalorian. His work with Dave Feloni has been highly acclaimed by both media and fans. It’s fair to say that this guy gets these fandoms.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that there is I am currently in the editing stage for the next season of The Mandalorian. I have learned more about the characters, so the things I wrote are evolving and changing. The editing room is where you will do your final rewrite. Yes, there is a plan. But I also know that the key to that plan is having a guide. It is important to navigate the waters between these two places.
Remember that I have filmmaker partners that are also writing their own scripts. If John Watts’ Skeleton Crew is happening at the same time as mine, and Dave Filoni’s Ahsoka are both happening at the same time, those events can impact one another. However, we meet up and plan where it will end. All of us are aiming for the same lighthouse together.
When you think about the amount of Star Wars content that will be coming to us in the next few decades, he certainly has a point. It is vital to connect all the threads to create that rich Star Wars tapestry. Fans can be assured that Favreau, along with his colleagues, has the future in their sights. If the executions of Marvel properties are any indication, Star Wars’ future looks bright.
