ICYMI: All About the Annapurna Interactive Showcase 2022
E3 is out of commission for this year. The scattered summer preview cycle continues with the Annapurna interactive 2022 Showcase. Annapurna Interactive, a publisher, known for pushing games such as Stray, Neon White, and Outer Wilds, is hosting a preview stream this year for their upcoming titles.
The Annapurna Interactive 2022 Showcase focuses on new games, showing off development updates for existing games, and shadow-dropping some unexpected titles. Annapurna Interactive’s ability to pull back the curtain on games development is the best thing about this stream. It allows game workers the freedom to share their personal stories and allow them to be themselves. It’s lovely.
We have a quick guide for those who missed the stream.

- Outerloop Games updates us on Thirsty SUItors, their skateboarding-based RPG about messy couples. It looks great! It’s great to see a game with a diverse cast of people of darker skin. The Thirsty Squires Steam demo is available now. The game will soon be available on all consoles and Xbox Game Pass.
- It is a narrative exploration game by Joel McDonald (Prune), with a release date of August 4, 2022. It is not my intention to call the developer a prune. That was the title of their previous mobile app. The trailer is filled with reflective scenes and encourages nostalgic reflection. It might make me weep shortly.
- Annapurna Interactive has announced they will continue their partnership with Kentucky Route Zero developers Cardboard Computer for their next, more performance-oriented project.
- Bounty star: The Morose Tale of the Graveyard Clem is revealed with giant cowboy mechs that go with the title. It looks like Overwatch meets Titanfall 2. This over-the-shoulder action video game was developed by DINOGOD and will feature mech battles in the dust as well as base building and traditional farming.
- Yarn Owl is a new studio that two friends formed from across the country. They talk about remote development and their creative process. Annapurna Interactive will join forces to create a classic Zelda-inspired game by a Black artist.
- S native ports on September 15, 2022. The game will offer 60FPS and a free upgrade to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners.
- The Pathless will be dropping on Xbox and Switch this Winter.
- Maquette will be coming to Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, and Switch this winter.
- Solar Ash will launch on Steam on December 6, 2022. This winter, it will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
- S in 4k, 60 FPS. Like Outer Wilds, owners of previous console versions get a free upgrade.
- Forever ago is a Firewatch-reminiscent story exploration game. The trailer shows an older man on a road trip through America. Third Shift, a German studio, is developing it.
- Flock is the most adorable game in the showcase. Its brilliant colors and fantastic creature design make it the best game on the screen. Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg created this multiplayer co-op herding video game. You may have seen them work on Hohokum or I Am Death. More about the latter will be revealed later. After seeing the sheep-ified creatures that fly behind the players in the sky, it’s difficult not to get excited about this game. It will be available on Xbox, Xbox Game Pass, and PlayStation.
