Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is the first of two action-adventure video games developed by Electronic Arts and published by EA Bright Light. After developers felt that the game needed a different approach to appeal to its adult audience, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1’s gameplay is different.

The over-the-shoulder camera allows the player to control Harry Potter’s character in the third person. It is played like a third-person shooter. Part 1 of The Deathly Hallows features a progression system that allows Harry to gain experience and upgrade his spells.
