Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was developed by Rockstar North, and published by Rockstar Games. To progress in the story, the player controls Tommy Vercetti, a criminal. The player has the freedom to roam the open world of the game and can also complete optional side missions. The world, which is composed of two main islands as well as several smaller areas, is larger than previous entries in the series. As the story progresses, the islands can be unlocked by the player.
