FFXIV Part 2 of the August 12 Live Letter; Here’s what we’ll see
The upcoming patch 6.2, “Buried Memory”, the content update for Final Fantasy XIV, has arrived. It feels like we have covered everything. There’s more to come. We’re receiving a second live letter from the Producer to provide information on FFXIV Patch 6.0.2. Live Letter 72 will be broadcast on August 12 at 4:00 a.m. PST / 7:00 a.m. ET. So North Americans have to rise bright and early again. The stream can be viewed on the official HTMLFFIV Twitch or the YouTube channel.
This is a common occurrence with significant patches, but 6.2 has new content types such as Island Sanctuary and Variant/Criterion Dungeons. (Coming in 6.25). The last Live Letter was covered in detail, so make sure you read all we know about HTMLXIV and 6.2. We’ll be discussing some of the items we expect to see in Live Letter 72, as well as what we know.
What we expect to see in Live Letter 72
Island Sanctuary: Live Game
Island Sanctuary is undoubtedly the most exciting piece of FFXIV content. It’s a perfect fit for HTMLXIV’s vibe. The land will be yours to cultivate, raise animals, craft items and explore on its own. We expect Naoki Yoshida, director and Producer of the game, to stream a gameplay demonstration. Live Teaser for the First Abyssos Raid
Abyss is the next set of Pandaemonium raids and takes centre stage in FFXIV 6.2. It’s also the subject of the patch key art. (which revealed that Ancient Lahabrea had been a caddy). We will explore Lahabrea’s wild Elpis dungeon. Yoshida gives us teaser walkthroughs of arenas and raid zones in Live Letters. We’ll likely get it again here.
More job changes
Yoshida has already stated that significant changes to Dragoon, Astrologian and other jobs have been delayed. However, tweaks and adjustments will be made to FFXIV’s Jobs. The details of the changes will be described in a post. However, we will likely receive more information during the Live Letter. You can read the most recent and FFXIV job changes starting Patch 6.18.

Yoshida’s favourite thing about Live Letters is holding up print-outs of new gear or glamour for everyone to see. It’s almost confident that we will be getting new gear due to the new waves of raids and crafting recipe streams. We’d love to see what they look like during stream.
