With so many gamers complaining of toxicities in everything from Apex Legends to League of Legends, it is clear that having another way to persuade people to change their competitive practices might be a good idea.
Not, in the case of PS5’s Accolades feature. It was quickly forgotten and is now being resurrected.
Sony’s Feature to Reward Sportsmanship Successes Doesn’t Work
According to a Note on Playstation’s website, Accolades will be discontinued in fall 2022. We are shifting our focus because the feature has not seen the expected usage level.
Many players responded to the news via social media, saying they didn’t know the feature existed or admitting they had never received one despite being online frequently since its release.
Sony says that players who didn’t know about the feature or want to show their appreciation to others will be able to do so in the traditional way.
