Deus Ex Voice Actor’s Twitter Prompts Speculation About New Game
It would not be surprising, given the deal between Square Enix, and Embracer Group in May, in which the Deus Ex IP, as well as host studios and rights, changed hands, that another entry in this series might soon follow.
Fans have theorized that this could be the case, but this hasn’t stopped them.
Reddit users are still trying to figure out what Adam Jensen’s voice actor Elias Toufexis meant by a post.
Fans quickly poke holes in a new game theory
Toufexis recently revealed via Twitter: “I’ve been voice acting for this great character in that huge AAA game for a couple of years.” I have been voice-directing many actors in the same game this year.
He added, “Today, I act in morning and direct afternoon. It’s an amazing trip, man. We can’t wait for you to join us.”
Tweet that suggested voice-over work for Deus Ex also contained a meme referring to Toufexis signing an NDA about the project.
Nevertheless, user Nuclear_Pizza posted the tweet in the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, suggesting that it could signify the Deus Ex series already receiving attention from Embracer following the acquisition, saying: “Deus Ex Mankind Divided had a lot of cut content, leaving a lot on the table for a sequel to wrap up. It is possible that the team is already producing a new Deus Ex game using the old concepts for 5.
Magikarp125 responded quickly: “IMDB claims he’s The Penguin In Gotham Knights. This could be a reference to that.” I don’t want my hopes up for a Deus Ex.
RotaryRoad also agreed, saying that he believed it was The Penguin. Deus Ex would have been so far in development that it would be impossible to do VO. Cinnabon said: “The only thing that would make this possible is if Square had produced the game before it was sold.” There’s no other way.
Nuclear_Pizza was forced to rethink its theory. They stated: “On repeated readings, it seems like this is actually a part in an unannounced Title that’s been in production for several years.”
