“Age Of Empires 4” is now free to play. Here’s how
There have been some significant gaming anniversaries this year, including 20 years of Kingdom Hearts and 30 years of Mario Kart and Kirby. In December, Final Fantasy celebrated its 35th birthday. The Age of Empires series will also be celebrating its 25th birthday in October.
PC Gamer reports that the most recent Age of Empires game, Age of Empires IV is now free to download on Steam. This is great news for those who are new to the series or who have missed the last one. You can access this game for free on Steam. Simply go to the Steam page and click “play the game” to get started.
You can only play the game for a short time. You can also get 50% off the regular and digital editions until then. This is a great time to grab it and keep fighting your battles.
Age of Empires IV will receive a special anniversary update on 25 October. This will include two new civilisations: the Ottomans (or Malians). You’ll also find new maps, masteries and achievements.
The devs posted an update on Steam, stating that they wanted to lead the powerful Malians of West Africa as one the most prosperous trading nations of all time. They also suggested investing in gold and mining strong economic prowess. Or, you can build one of the most lasting empires in history using the Ottoman civilisation with its highly-trained military force and the Ottoman Civilisation. It features the Great Bombard, the most powerful gunpowder siege weapon.
